Two people, thrown together by fate,
Never expecting to find the other,
Yet having their lives altered by the meeting.
Together, yet separate, we fled unwanted futures,
You from a marriage most foul,
And I from a doomed tedious existence.
By the whim of fate we were united.
Both of us seizing the opportunity,
A proud ship upon the harbor.
Miles off shore, on the open sea,
Two stowaways discovered,
One a woman, one a man.
Bad luck was what they called you,
And argued a course of action,
To keep you aboard or throw you upon the waves' mercy.
My lot proved not so tough,
They swore I'd earn my keep,
And fed me to the ship's const
Machine gun fire,
Sends the fatality rate higher.
Death is flying on swift wings,
Regardless of who's side it stings.
All around me, falling fast,
When will it be over at last?
What was once a mighty cause,
Now shows its despicable flaws.
Are we heros, or are we fools,
To fight over which man rules?
Afterall, our enemy is not a beast,
Who would take our families and feast
We are fighting man to man.
Our adversaries are just human.
Am I right to take mens' lives?
What will happen when death arrives?
Will I be as a murderer counted,
When my deeds have been amounted?
Can I live with guilt forever?
Will I think myself as clever
When we first met,
I couldn't keep my eyes away.
Your enchanting smile,
Your sparkling eyes,
Placed a spell on me.
Oblivious to the hazards of love.
And since then,
You wrapped me 'round your little finger.
With your sweet words,
And whispered secrets,
You entangled me.
Ignoring the hazards of love.
But I could not see,
How you were leading me on.
With your practiced façade,
And your calculated act,
You made me fall.
Unaware of the hazards of love.
Now, I'm lying cold and dead,
In this four-sided box called a grave.
Because of your hard heart,
And cold betrayal,
You ended my life.
Experiencing the hazards of love.

Sharper Than A Thousand Knives
The pain your words bring,
Is sharper than a thousand knives,
Worse than a simple flesh wound.
It pierces my soul,
And torments my mind,
Until I feel sick with the ache of it,
And I fear I'll explode,
From the inside out,
Just to let the pain escape my body.
Summons tears until I feel I will suffocate
I'm drowning in your words.
The pain your words bring,
Is sharper than a thousand knives,
Because what you spoke is true,
And I don't know how to change on my own.
The beautiful landscape of my dreams,
Has been overcome by creeping shadows.
I once dreamed about anything and everything,
Fantasized about my future and the days ahead.
How foolish I was, it is true.
Now the peaks I once imagined I'd climb,
Have been suffocated under a blanket of snow.
The harshness of reality has drowned any ambitions,
And the icy breath of hopelessness froze them solid.
My fairytales have cracked, turned grey and barren.
No more do I sit and smile, lost in my thoughts.
Forever am I lost in this world of darkness,
With no trust in daydreams to bring the light.
Nevermore will I wish for my ever after.

Phoenix From The Ashes
I watched you die.
When you stopped breathing,
My heart stopped beating,
And now I'm a walking corpse.
When you died,
You set the timbers of my heart afire,
And watched them burn.
Like a phoenix,
Something beautiful and strong,
Set ablaze in an instant.
I watched you fade away.
When you stopped breathing,
My heart stopped beating,
And now I'm a walking corpse.
When you died,
My fire died, too, dwindling into a trail of smoke.
It burned away to nothing.
Like a phoenix,
The ashes of my love,
Blew away with the wind.
I watched you pass away,
When you stopped breathing,
My heart stopped beating,
And now I'm a walking corpse
Stay a moment more,
And hold my hand,
Because it's you I adore.
Won't you please linger,
And caress my face?
You're my joy-bringer.
Don't leave me yet.
Whisper in my ear,
Sing with me a duet.
Just hold me close.
A simple embrace,
Nothing grandiose.
All I really need,
Is you here with me,
Else my heart will bleed.
A touch of your lips,
Light against mine.
Away the moment slips.
None of my grieving,
Will bring you back.
You are still leaving.
A swirl of the mist,
Swallows you whole,
With my rose in your fist.
And you are gone,
As you always are.
Stolen by the dawn.
Ethereal notes,
Dancing 'round my head.
Haunting me,
With memories of the dead.
A phantom musician,
An eerie symphony,
A dark magician,
My crooked melody.
Ethereal notes,
Enchanting my mind,
Haunting me,
As they slowly unwind.
A phantom musician,
An eerie symphony,
A dark magician,
My crooked melody.
Ethereal notes,
Invading my senses,
Haunting me,
As they tear down defenses.
A phantom musician,
An eerie symphony,
A dark magician,
My crooked melody.
Ethereal notes,
Driving me insane,
Haunting me,
As it damages my brain.
A phantom musician,
An eerie symphony,
A dark magician,
My crooked melody.
Ethereal notes,
This blade,
A gentle caress.
My aide,
Wield with finesse.
This pain,
Don't make me abstain.
My bane,
Keeping me sane.
My savior,
Anchors me here.
My lover,
Holding me near.
My punishment,
Please, oh knife,
Don't you relent.
Save my life.
Don't you tell me,
Another lie.
Not with your lips as you kiss me,
Not with your tongue as you diss me.
Don't you believe me,
Another time.
Not my hands as I stroke you,
Not my words as I provoke you.
Cause lies,
Have come between us.
And ties,
Been severed between us.
I will not fall,
Another time,
Not for your eyes as they wink,
Not for your fingers that interlink.
Cause I'm done,
Believing your lies.
And I can see,
Right through your guise.
I see what's underneath.
You're only a fake.
And you don't know,
My heart is at stake.

Yup, that's me. Picture was actually taken by my brother, but hey! I needed a portrait. :)
What can I say about myself that will capture the essence of who I am? Not much, I suppose. I'm a dreamer. A quirky girl with a mind of her own. (And is often found lost in the depths of that mind.) To put it simply, I love art. Dance, nature, music, drawings, you name it. Perhaps the most beloved art form would be writing. Can't live without it. (Trust me, I've tried.) If I didn't have my writing to let out all my thoughts and emotions, I just might explode. Well, let's hope not. That wouldn't be a pretty sight...

Well, my first journal entry. The little blank spot was sorta bugging me, so even though I don't have a whole lot to say, I decided to at least write something. :P
School started again yesterday (Unfortunately. I was rather enjoying my break.) though I don't think that freshman comp. will be all that bad, and my four hour watercolor class certainly won't bother me a bit. We'll see about that geography class...
I'm not really one for new year's resolutions, but I set myself a challenge this year. I'm going to write at least one poem a day, every day until next January 1st. Yeah, go ahead, call me crazy. Apparently, when I do set goals, I set
